Puracy Shampoo and Conditioner Review

I tried Puracy natural shampoo and conditioner for two weeks and here’s my Puracy shampoo review.
Would I recommend it?
No.
It sadly didn’t work for my hair at all. After my hair completely dried, it felt somewhat sticky and slightly oily when I ran my fingers through. It made my curtain bangs look greasy and gross. I felt the need to wash my hair every single day.
The Good
- Bottles have a disc top so it’s easy to pour out and also good for traveling
- Clean Ingredients for the most part
- Good price
Considerations
- Felt a bit sticky and greasy after washing my hair
- Felt the need to wash my hair every day
- The shampoo did not lather very well
What I think of Puracy shampoo and conditioner
Puracy Shampoo Review
For some context, I typically wash my hair every 2-3 days. I have long straight, black hair. I let it air dry mostly. But I will blow dry occasionally when I need my hair completely dry before bed.
The shampoo did not lather well. I tried adding more shampoo and then more water but I just could not get it to foam up more. So it felt like it didn’t cleanse my hair thoroughly. It’s likely because there aren’t any sulfates. But I’ve also tried other sulfate-free shampoos before and they had lather.

Puracy Conditioner Review
The conditioner felt good on my hair at first. When I applied the conditioner, my hair felt soft when it was still wet. I felt like a little bit went a long way. But after it dried, it didn’t feel too soft anymore.
My hair felt greasy and slightly sticky after I finished washing and drying my hair. It felt pretty uncomfortable. By the end of the day, I already felt like washing my hair.
The scent for both was very subtle and gentle. It was a citrus and mint scent and I enjoyed it.

The Cost
- Puracy shampoo is $6.49 for 12oz
- Puracy conditioner is $6.49 for 12oz
When you compare that price with conventional brands like Garnier, it’s slightly more expensive. A 12.5oz of Garnier shampoo is around $3.50. Even some conventional brands like Pantene come very close in price to Puracy.
But it’s still relatively more affordable compared to most shampoo brands.

Sustainability
The bottles are made of plastic but are recyclable. It was shipped to me packaged in a cardboard box.
Is It Non-Toxic?
Even though I didn’t like the product, I had to give them props for their commitment to clean ingredients. I like that they show exactly what fragrance is in the product.
It’s made with only essential oils like bergamot, peppermint, and eucalyptus. So if you have sensitive skin, just double-check to see if you’re allergic to those essential oils.
Other than that, all the ingredients look fairly clean to me.
They specifically state that the ingredients don’t have:
- SLS
- SLES
- MEA
- DEA
- TEA
- Sulfates
- Parabens
- Phthalates
- Silicones
- Dyes
- Petrochemicals
- Animal By-Products
- Dimethicone
My Recommendation
I wouldn’t recommend it. It checked all the boxes for me in terms of clean ingredients but the product itself didn’t work for my hair at all. I’d much rather use a hair product that actually works for me even if it had a few not so ideal ingredients. It still has to be as non-toxic as possible though!
That’s all for my Puracy shampoo review! If you tried it, what did you think of it?
