Odele Shampoo Review: Why It’s My Favorite Shampoo Now

odele volumizing shampoo and conditioner

I found this shampoo at Target and have been trying it for the past 2 weeks. It’s also marked as clean at Target. I wanted to give my honest Odele shampoo review and see if it’s actually clean.

Would I recommend it?

Yes! I think it might be my favorite shampoo and conditioner I’ve tried so far. It made my hair the smoothest and shinest it’s ever been. There are some ingredients I wish weren’t in the formulation but I’m still comfortable with using them since they’re not the worst.

FYI – I purchased this product. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links. Thanks for supporting The Gentle Album!

Odele Shampoo Review

For some context, I have dry, flakey scalp.

I tried the Odele volumizing shampoo. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the shampoo’s color is completely transparent and it’s more liquidy than most other shampoos I’ve tried. The more liquidy texture made it easier to work into my scalp.

I double cleansed like I always do with shampoo and there was significantly more lather on the second wash. This was expected. But for the second wash, a little bit of shampoo plus water already created good lather.

I liked that the scent is very light, even lighter than the Purezero biotin shampoo. It has a subtle earthy scent too which I enjoyed.

Afterwards, I felt like it added noticeable volume to my hair while feeling like my scalp was cleaned thoroughly.

Odele Conditioner Review

Along with the volumizing shampoo, I got the Odele volumizing conditioner. I found the texture to be more liquidy than most conditioners. I surprisingly prefer it that way since I could work it into my hair more easily.

The conditioner was more liquidy but it was still thick enough to feel like it was moisturizing and smoothing my hair out.

The feeling of both the shampoo and conditioner felt more premium and luxurious than most other ones I’ve tried. But the real magic was how my hair felt after it was dried.

It became the shinest, softest, and most clean it’s felt in a while. Rarely do I get so obsessed over a product.

I have medium to fine hair and it worked well for my hair type. On the bottle, it states that it won’t work as well for curly hair types. In terms of its ability to promote hair growth or prevent hair loss, it’s too soon to tell. I’ll update this post and show my results after using it for at least 3 months.

The Cost

The Odele shampoo price is $11.99 per 13 fl oz bottle. It’s not crazy expensive but not the most affordable as well.

Sustainability

The entire bottle is 100% recyclable which is great!

Is It Non-Toxic?

The ingredients in Odele Beauty shampoo and conditioner are so close to being clean according to my standards. The only ingredients I wish weren’t in the formula are:

  • Phenoxyethanol: It’s a preservative in the Odele conditioner to prevent the growth of bacteria. It can cause skin irritation for people with sensitive skin. I don’t have sensitive skin so I would be okay with using it, but I’d prefer it to not be in my products.
  • Behentrimonium Chloride: This is a cleansing agent that softens hair and helps detangle hair. However, it can cause allergic reactions and irritation if there are high concentrations of it.
  • Cetrimonium Chloride: This ingredient can help reduce flyaways. It’s considered safe for rinse-off products and if it’s at a low concentration level. This can still have the chance of causing skin irritation.
  • Fragrance: There is undisclosed fragrance here. I do like that there are no synthetic fragrances but I wish they showed the fragrance ingredients.

Jasmine’s Final Thoughts

I’m in love with how this product felt on my hair. I know the products can be cleaner, but it comes very close. Until I find something that has even fewer skin irritants and has the same effectiveness, this will be by far my favorite shampoo. I’m really curious to try the ultra sensitive shampoo and see if it feels the same.

Other popular products from this brand are the Odele clarifying shampoo, the Odele smoothing shampoo, and the air dry styler – I’ll be reviewing those on the blog soon!

That’s all for my review on Odele shampoo! What are your thoughts?
