No. I don’t really have sensitive skin and baking soda doesn’t irritate my underarms. However, this Kopari deodorant made my skin tingle a little bit. The ingredients were not bad, but not the cleanest. The only thing I liked was how smooth it glided on.

About Kopari

Kopari Beauty was founded by Gigi Goldman, Bryce Goldman, Kiana Cabell, and James Brennan in 2015. The company’s mission was to create beauty products that are natural, effective and centered around the use of coconut oil. More about Kopari:

  •  Uses 100% organic, sustainably sourced coconut from family farms in the Philippines
  • Made in Southern California
  • Vegan & Cruelty-Free
  • Uses 100% recyclable packaging.

Kopari Deodorant Review

I tried the Kopari deodorant in the original scent. The shape of the top of the deodorant was very satisfying. It was perfectly round and it glided on incredibly smoothly. It was the smoothest deodorant I’ve tried.

It also felt very cool on my skin. It felt almost like putting a cold pack on my underarms. I liked that a lot.

The scent is mild and not too overpowering. It had a strong coconut scent that smelled good but was not my favorite. But that’s maybe because I prefer more floral or citrus scents.

After I applied it to my underarms, I felt a slight tingling sensation. I’ve never had irritation from natural deodorants before so that was unexpected. This might have something to do with the ingredients but more on this below.

This coconut deodorant was quite solid so I noticed no residue or stains on my shirt after I applied. It gave me odor protection on a casual day but when I’m sweating more, it didn’t do a great job at it.

The Cost

The cost of the Kopari deodorant is $18. Some other retailers like Amazon sell it for a few dollars cheaper. Overall, I think it’s a bit expensive. Most other natural deodorants I’ve seen cost around $10-15.

Sustainability

One thing I admire about Kopari is their dedication to sustainability. Their packaging is 100% recyclable.

Their coconut oil is sourced from sustainable family farms in the Philippines. It’s also 100% organic.

They also make their products in a green manufacturer that is solar-powered. This means they reduce water waste and limit their carbon emissions.

Is It Non-Toxic?

Compared to my preferred natural deodorants, the ingredients in the Kopari deodorant are not as ideal. These ingredients are:

  • Propylene Glycol: This is a cleansing agent that may cause skin irritation for some people. It’s an ingredient I don’t prefer to see in my products. This is also the first ingredient on the list which means there’s a significant amount of it.
  • Fragrance: There is undisclosed fragrance. Many other clean deodorants list what essential oils are in their ingredients but this Kopari one doesn’t.

I’ve never experienced any irritation from deodorants before. So this was the first time I felt a tingling feeling on my underarms after using it. It wasn’t strong but it might have something to do with the propylene glycol.

But I do like that this is an aluminum-free deodorant and doesn’t have phthalates, sulfates, and parabens.

Jasmine’s Final Thoughts

Not a buy. Since the ingredients are not ideal, caused a bit of irritation for me, and just weren’t too effective at covering BO, I will not be repurchasing. I think there are better options like the Humble deodorants.

That’s all for my Kopari deodorant review! What are your thoughts?
