Raw Elements Sunscreen Review

I tried this mineral sunscreen for a few weeks and here’s my Raw Elements sunscreen review.
Would I recommend it?
No. The ingredients are all clean but I didn’t like the product at all. It felt way too greasy even on my dry skin. The feeling was just so uncomfortable. The oil separated from the sunscreen but because the sunscreen was so thick, there was no way to combine it.
FYI – I purchased this product. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links. Thanks for supporting The Gentle Album!

Raw Elements Sunscreen Review
When I first read over the ingredient list, I knew this sunscreen was going to be on the oily side. Most sunscreens use water as their first ingredient but Raw Elements uses sunflower seed oil. As someone with dry skin, I was excited to try.
The product was the thickest sunscreen I’ve tried. I squeezed it out with all my strength and only the smallest amount came out.
There was also a layer of oil that came out before the sunscreen did. So the oils and sunscreen did not mix. It was not an enjoyable experience.
Then, I applied the sunscreen on my face and it just felt so greasy and thick. It sat very uncomfortably on my skin. It took a while to spread out with my fingers. There’s a white cast initially but it does go away after you rub it in.
I can imagine this sunscreen being even more uncomfortable for people with oily skin.
The good thing about this is since it’s so thick, it feels like you’re being protected from the sun.

The Cost
The price of their 3 fl oz sunscreen is $19.49. I think that’s a good price for a mineral sunscreen.
Sustainability
The sunscreen is packaged in a Bio-Resin tube which is made from sugarcane waste. This reduces waste.
Is It Non-Toxic?
Yes. I can confidently say there are no bad ingredients in here. I’m very impressed by that. The only thing is if you have sensitive skin, some natural oils in here can potentially cause skin irritation. But overall, they’re not very irritating. Those oils are:
- Green Tea Leaf Extract
- Black Tea Leaf Extract
- Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil
There is 23% non-nano zinc oxide in this sunscreen. That’s the highest zinc oxide percentage I’ve seen which makes it very effective at protecting against UV rays.
Many other ingredients in here are extremely moisturizing too. Those include mango butter, cocoa seed butter, and sunflower seed oil. Lots of their ingredients are organic too.
Jasmine’s Final Thoughts
Not a buy. I really wanted to love this sunscreen because I love all the nourishing ingredients they put inside the formula. There are also no preservatives, fragrances, and other toxins. Unfortunately, I did not like the texture at all. I think using a sunscreen that you actually want to use is important but I wouldn’t reach for this one.
To summarize:
- If you have dry skin or combo skin, you could give it a try if you don’t mind the grease.
- If you have oily skin, I would not recommend it. It would feel too greasy on your skin.
That’s all for my Raw sugar sunscreen review! What are your thoughts?
