ilia concealer

My Top Pick: ILIA True Skin Concealer

This is my favorite concealer! It covers the dark spots under my eyes really well. I was super impressed by how long this concealer lasts too. It also has Vitamin C which I love to put under my eyes.

The best part is it feels very lightweight on my skin – almost like I have nothing on.

It’s also one of the few non-comedogenic concealers so it’s good for people who are sensitive to comedogenic ingredients.

Best Organic Concealer For Dark Circles

1. ILIA True Skin Concealer

Best Lightweight Organic Concealer

Ingredients: Vitamin C, Mastic, Albizia Julibrissin Bark Extract

My Review: This concealer was one of the most lightweight concealers I tried. It’s not too thick. Since I have dry skin, I like to apply a layer of moisturizer before applying this to prevent any creases. There’s also Vitamin C in the formula which I found really helped brighten my under-eye area. I liked the applicator a lot! I like that it’s very thin and it’s also bendable.

Customer Reviews:

This is one of the best concealers I’ve tried! I have acne-prone skin and this covers up my pimples and doesn’t cause new ones to form. No cakeyness at all.

Covered one area well, but did not blend as much as I would have liked.

2. W3ll People Bio Correct Concealer

Best Full Coverage Organic Concealer

Ingredients: Organic pomegranate oil, olive oil, and castor seed oil

My Review: This concealer is definitely full coverage. So it covered up my blemishes and dark circles really well. I wouldn’t use this on a “no makeup makeup” look kind of day, but definitely will on a day I need my makeup to look perfect. Even though the product is thick, it doesn’t feel dry or hard to blend. This bottle doesn’t come with an applicator and it’s meant to be applied with your fingers. If you don’t mind that, I think it’s a good choice for full coverage concealer.

Customer Reviews:

It’s a small tube, but a really small amount (mustard seed size) goes a long way and does a great job concealing.

I’ve been using this concealer for a few years now. It works great to cover dark circles under eyes and blemishes on face.

3. Jane Iredale Active Light Under-Eye Concealer

Best Natural Concealer For Dark Circles (With Built-In Brush)

Ingredients: Avocado oil, Beeswax, Sunflower seed oil, Rosehip oil, White Tea Extract

My Review: The applicator is my favorite out of all the concealers I tried. You twist the bottom to get the product out and you can apply it directly on your face. The top is like a brush so you basically get a concealer and brush in one. This concealer is not very thick and it feels very moisturizing. It does have more of a medium coverage but it’s buildable.

Customer Reviews:

I’ve been using this product for years. I love how it goes on so smoothly it never cakes.

Easy to apply. Works well on older skin to cover dark under eye area and does not cake into lines.

4. Alima Pure Cream Concealer

alima pure cream concealer

Best Organic Cream Concealer

Ingredients: Squalane, Avocado Oil, Shea Butter, Beeswax

My Review: I was a big fan of the texture of this product. I like that I can easily apply it with my fingers with a dabbing motion. I can also really control the amount of product I apply. Usually, with other concealers with a wand, I can easily put a little too much product on. It also gave me really good coverage with even a small amount of product. Also, this is made in Italy!

Customer Reviews:

The color is just right and it goes on so smoothly! I could actually wear it without foundation if needed.

This concealer is exactly what I was hoping for. It both provides coverage and quality color and yet light not cakey on my skin.

5. Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Perfecting Concealer

juice beauty under eye concealer

Best Organic Plant-Based Concealer

Ingredients: Organic coconut oil, Organic castor seed oil, Organic carnauba wax, Organic grape seed oil, Organic jojoba seed oil

My Review: This concealer has a sheer to medium coverage but it feels very hydrating on my skin. I like you can just apply it with your fingers and precisely control the amount you want to put on. It’s also packaged in a glass jar which I love! It’s more eco-friendly than plastic and I feel like it keeps the product fresh for longer. Also, the fact that most ingredients are organic makes me really happy.

The only downside is it only has 5 shades so it might be hard to find your exact shade. If you can’t find a good shade match, I recommend getting the Alima Pure one which has 10 shades.

Customer Reviews:

I always struggle with concealers. I like the way they look and then get upset with how much they show the small wrinkles and lines under my eyes. This concealer is the best one I have tried.

This will last quite awhile, it is not too wet or thin. Good quantity. Coverage is buildable and blends well.

6. BaeBlu 100% Natural Organic Concealer

beablu organic concealer

Best Affordable Organic Concealer

Ingredients: Castor seed oil, Coconut oil, Candelilla wax, Cocoa seed butter, Shea Butter, Jojoba seed oil, Rosemary Leaf Extract (All Organic)

My Review: Between Alima Pure, Juice Beauty, and this concealer, I honestly liked this one the least. It has sheer coverage and rubbed off more easily. But I still included it on this list because it’s the most inexpensive and they are the only concealer I’ve seen with this many certified organic ingredients.

Customer Reviews:

Wish this had better coverage but it barely covers up my purple, dark circles and bags under my eyes.

Love this under eye coverage. Great ingredients! It is a bit creamy, and tends to rub off, but I just set with a little powder and it’s good.

7. Jones Road The Face Pencil

jones road face pencil

Best Pencil Concealer

Ingredients: Shea butter

My Review: I normally don’t like to use pencil concealers because they tend to be a little cakey on my dry skin. This face pencil felt a little dry on my skin and it didn’t last the whole day. But out of all the concealer pencils I’ve tried, this felt the creamiest on my skin. So if I had to choose one pencil concealer, it would be this one. If I had other cream concealer options, I wouldn’t go with this one.

Customer Reviews:

I love the pencil very much- I like how I can manage the coverage so specifically. My only wish is that is was just a teeny bit softer.

Takes a lot of product to work, and then it doesn’t last. It wears off after about two hours.

8. PUR 4-in-1 Sculpting Concealer

pur organic concealer

Best Organic Concealer For Mature Skin

Ingredients: Green tea, Ginseng, Vitamin B, and Retinol

My Review: The texture of this concealer is creamy and it feels very hydrating on my skin. It didn’t crease into my under eyes so I think it’s good for mature skin. The applicator was a bit thick for my liking. I usually like to apply very thin strokes of concealer so it wasn’t ideal for me. But I liked that it was soft and flexible. I found it to give me medium to full coverage and left a matte finish. It also lasted the whole day. It also has 16 shades to choose from.

Customer Reviews:

I like the paddle applicator, it’s soft and pointy. I still need to settle this concealer with powder to prevent it settling into my under eye lines. It wears well through the day.

I absolutely love how smooth it goes on and how lightless it feels not like you have a bunch of makeup on also has medium to full coverage also goes on in a matte finish.

9. Hynt Beauty Duet Perfecting Concealer

hynt natural concealer

Best Pigmented Non Toxic Concealer

Ingredients: Avocado Oil, Aloe Vera Leaf, Jojoba oil, Capuacu Seed Butter

My Review: This is definitely a full coverage concealer. It’s super pigmented and just hides all my dark spots with very little product. I would say it’s not as moisturizing as many other concealers I’ve tried. So if you want something that has good coverage for a long day, this is a good choice. It has 11 shades.

Customer Reviews:

This is by far the best formula of a concealer I have ever used. The formula is so blendable and creamy! It doesn’t sink into fine lines and is full coverage!

This has a fantastic, creamy, super blendable texture and really good coverage.

10. RMS Beauty Uncoverup Natural Finish Concealer

rms beauty clean concealer

Best Non Toxic Sheer Concealer

Ingredients: Coconut oil, Castor seed oil, Beeswax, Jojoba seed oil, Rosemary extract

My Review: This was the concealer that covered the least for me. It almost felt more like a tinted moisturizer than a concealer. I can’t really justify $38 for such a little bit of product that feels like it should be applied to the whole face as a tinted moisturizer. But I did still include this on the list because I liked the texture of it a lot. It doesn’t settle into my fine lines and isn’t chalky. I also liked that the product has very clean ingredients.

Customer Reviews:

Such a great, naturally-derived option for sensitive skin. I’ve been using this for years in place of a tinted moisturizer because it’s buildable yet doesn’t cake onto skin, it creates a beautiful glow.

Love this as a light foundation, not so much as a concealer.

how to choose a non toxic concealer guide

What ingredients to avoid in an organic concealer?

I always avoid these ingredients in an organic concealer.

  • Parabens: Parabens are put into many beauty products to extend their shelf life. But it has the potential to disrupt your hormones. It’s best to choose a paraben-free concealer.
  • Synthetic Fragrances: Synthetic fragrances can sometimes cause skin irritation and allergic reactions, especially for those with sensitive skin.
  • Mineral Oil: Mineral oil can potentially create a barrier over the skin to prevent it from absorbing moisture. Choose organic concealers made with plant-based extracts to provide extra hydration.
  • Phthalates: Phthalates are added to toxic products to make them more flexible. However, it can potentially cause reproductive effects and other negative health effects.
  • Synthetic Dyes: Synthetic dyes are often derived from petroleum which not only causes skin irritations but also it’s bad to inhale.
  • Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde is added to toxic beauty products as a preservative to extend its shelf life. But it’s bad for the human body and is a known human carcinogen.
  • Silicones: Silicones are added to toxic makeup products to help create a very smooth texture and improve the sensory effect. However, it may clog your pores and form a barrier on the skin.

How to choose concealer for dark circles?

These are the few things I like to think about before choosing a concealer that works for me.

  • Undertone: See if you have warm undertones (yellow or golden hue), cool undertones (pink or blue hue), or neutral undertones (a mix of both).
  • Skin Type: If you have oily skin, I would get either a pencil concealer or liquid concealer. If you have dry skin, I would get a cream concealer or a very hydrating liquid concealer.
  • Coverage: If you have darker circles and blemishes you’d like to cover up more, go for a full-coverage concealer. If you want a more natural look, go for a concealer with a light or medium coverage level.
  • Hydration: Some concealers have more hydration than others. If you have dry skin, you definitely should get a concealer infused with many oils and botanical extracts to help prevent the product from going in between fine lines.
  • Finish: There are some concealers that have a matte, semi-matte, or dewy finish.
  • Certifications: Many concealers have certifications like cruelty-free, vegan, gluten-free, or soy-free.

That’s all for the list of the best organic concealer for dark circles without any harmful ingredients! Which clean concealer is your favorite?
