4 Eco-Friendly Phone Cases That I Always Swear By
I probably drop my phone at least once a day. I wish I was exaggerating but I’m not. So it’s a hard requirement that I get a phone case that can sustain all kinds of drops! I’ve been on a lifelong hunt for the best eco-friendly phone cases that can keep my phone safe and also are better for the environment. I think I’ve finally found them and I’m excited to share them with you!
My Top Pick: Pela Case
I love my Pela case! It feels soft but also has enough grip so I don’t feel like it’s slipping off my hands all the time.
I also don’t love flashy cases so I love that Pela has very subtle designs with muted colors.
It’s also 100% biodegradable and compostable!
The Best Eco-Friendly Phone Cases
1. Pela Case
My favorite eco-friendly cases are from Pela. They use a Flaxstic material which is made from flax straw waste, plant-based biopolymers, and other recycled materials. This means it’s 100% compostable and biodegradable!
The texture of my case feels very soft, smooth, and velvety. It has enough grip that lets me slip it into my pants pockets without a problem. And it doesn’t have as much grip as a typical silicone phone case.
The case has a bit of flexibility but is also hard so it does take a bit of effort to take the case off. Harder cases give me more peace of mind since they tend to be more durable.
2. Casetify
Casetify is all over social media! I see so many celebrities taking mirror selfies with them. I do have to note that not all their cases are sustainable – only a certain line of their cases are.
What I love the most about these sustainable phone cases is they allow you to customize your name and let you choose different fonts.
The cases are made with a bamboo material and are 100% compostable and biodegradable! The texture is a bit on the hard side.
3. Nimble
I think Nimble has one of the most unique phone cases. It’s made of recycled compact discs (CDs) – where do you ever see that? I love that their cases have a permanent antimicrobial coating that protects your case from any germs.
Sometimes, I like just a simple clear case and Nimble phone cases are my favorite. Out of all the clear cases I’ve used, I’m impressed that this one didn’t yellow as quickly as other ones I’ve tried.
They also use 100% plastic-free packaging!
4. Carved
If you’re looking for a good sustainable wooden phone case, I recommend getting one from Carved! I’m personally not a huge fan of wood cases so I haven’t tried Carved before. But I know they have raving reviews and so many people are talking about them.
They make their cases from real wood burls which are the deformities on trees. So they definitely harvest trees responsibly. Each piece also has a uniquely colored resin design.
