Ceremonia Product Review: Papaya Scalp Scrub and Aceite de Moska Hair Oil

I have tried a few Ceremonia products over the past few months, and here’s my honest review of them. I specifically tried the Papaya Scalp Scrub and Aceite de Moska Hair Oil, two of their best sellers.
Would I recommend it?
I’m obsessed with the scalp scrub and it has visibly reduced the amount of dandruff on my scalp. The hair oil is great but I’m not sure about how much it has helped my scalp. I do like the ritual of oiling my hair before I go in the shower so it’s a pleasant product to use.
About Ceremonia
Ceremonia is a clean hair care brand started by Babba C. Rivera, who comes from a Latinx background. The brand’s products all have Latinx influence in the ingredients. The entire brand is created to celebrate Latinx culture.
Ceremonia Papaya Scrub Review
The texture of this scalp scrub is just perfect. It’s thick but not too thick. Small beads inside help clean the scalp really well when you use it to scrub.
Also, this product can last me so long. Each time, I just need to use a quarter size amount and it’s more than enough.
The smell is nice, not overpowering at all. I know some people prefer fragrance-free products, so if you prefer fragrance-free free, this product is not for you. I’m someone who is very sensitive to fragrances, so I love that this product doesn’t smell artificial and smells subtle.

Ceremonia Aceite de Moska Hair Oil Review
The hair oil itself is very pleasant, and a little bit goes a long way. I usually use one drop each time before I take a shower.
After I apply the oil, I go in with a scalp massager. I’ve been using this product for over 6 months, and I honestly can’t tell if it’s making a difference.
My main concern prior to using this was having flaky scalp. I used this hair oil and the papaya scrub at the same time, and I did notice that my flaky scalp was not as apparent. There was still some, but I wasn’t sure if it was this hair oil or the scalp scrub that helped the issue.
My biggest dislike about the product is the packaging. The dropper works just fine, but since it’s packaged in a plastic bottle, it feels cheap. I prefer it to be in a glass bottle.

The Cost
The hair oil costs $32, and the papaya scalp scrub costs $34. The hair oil can probably last you 1 year if you use it consistently 2x per week. The scalp scrub can last you a few years if you use a 2x a week.
Sustainability
The packaging is 100% recyclable. I do wish the hair oil could have been packaged in a glass bottle though.
Is It Non-Toxic?
For the hair oil, the ingredients are very clean and contain some nice and nourishing oils that are good for your skin and scalp. It has meadowfoam seed oil, chia seed oil, babassu oil, castor oil, açaí oil, maracujá oil, cupuaçu butter, which are all great ingredients.
The only con I would say is if you’re extra sensitive to fragrance, this is not the product for you. The good thing is they disclose all the fragrance ingredients so you can see if you’re allergic to any of the specific fragrance ingredients they list.
For the papaya scrub, the good is that there is gentle surfactants, good nourishing ingredients, and natural thickeners. The not-so-good is that there is phenoxyethanol, which is not the absolute worst but can potentially cause skin or eye irritation if you’re extra sensitive to it. There’s also fragrance in here too.
Jasmine’s Final Thoughts
Overall, I’d say if you’re not sensitive to fragrances, these two products are a must-add to your hair care routine! Especially the scalp scrub! It has reduced my flaky scalp and I look forward to using it every time it’s a hair wash day.
That’s all for my Ceremonia review! What are your thoughts?
